    Default KitchenAid tub

    Model - KAWE660W

Whats the secret to getting this inner tub out so I can change the gasket?

I thought I knew how, but when I try to shake the tub loose with the nut removed, the motor and all moves with it. Looks like there are 4 protrusions toward the bottom of the tube.

This thing has a bad leak, and I need to get it apart to check the gasket. Help!

Have another question about this type of machine, but will make another post.

I found 4 models that start with those digits.

Those are likely for the filter under the wash tub.

    That's about right....A copy:

To remove the inner basket you will need a spanner tool to remove the inner basket, remove the agitator, remove the tank cover, remove the nut and lift up of the inner basket. You may be able to get away with using a straight screw driver and a hammer. Once the tub nut is off, sometimes the tub gets frozen to the center hub. If the tub will not lift out, sometimes putting one foot inside of the tub and stomping down will break it free. Two people, one on each side can also lift up and push down at the same time, may also break the inner basket free.

Guess I will try some more penetrating fluid and a little stomping. Sometimes you just have to put your foot down! I do believe the protrusions are part of the filter as they are the same color, orange. I guess they are flexible enough to let the tub come out over them?

Should probably come out with the tub.
