Possible for a drive block to make a loud rumbling like noise during wash and spin?
May try for a vid ina day or so if I can't find the problem.

Thing sounds like a jet when spinning. My first though was dry bearing but not sure now that I think a little more on it.

I'll be checking weights, springs, drive block, etc..

Same machine tends to not want to shut off when in spin at times.
May end up a parts machine.

Not normally during the agitation.

Any black weeping out where the tranny enters the outer tank bottom?...often a little wate rweeping out gets into the spin bearing near the bottom of the tranny and the washer roars...

I have not caught the timer sticking yet.

I am now going to concentrate on the belt and pump. The belt looks to have about 2" of play in it, and the pump seems noisey.

Still am not ruling out the spin bearing

I was told it would not stop at its final spin...sometimes. It would just keep running, spinning I guess. I have not caught it doing this..yet. Sounded like a timer problem to me.

Anyway, it does have the plastic tub and the model number is VBSR3100B0WW.

The belt seems to have a little more play than it should, and there is a little back and forth play at the drive block on the tranny shaft. There also seems to be a little excessive wobble motion in the agitator.

I removed the agitator and the block to see if it quietened down. It was outside when I did this, not the same as being in a small washroom, but it did seem to run quieter.

Can you describe how much play is acceptable in the block and agitator?

Oh, I also suspect the pump is a little noisy.

A little play is normal, 4 bolts under the motor are loosened and you can move the motor forward towards you to tighten the belt.

A little is normal with an older block as the plastic will loosen.


There also seems to be a little excessive wobble motion in the agitator.

They are always a little loose/wobbly.
