Only oven working

Afternoon,
I have a Kenmore oven, (MD# 790.71014301/SN#VF34234754) that's about 10yrs old.
the range is working perfectly, but my oven/broiler wont heat, and just gives off fumes.
cant really afford to replace, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Got someone to come out and check it, turns out it is the safety valve. Couldn't be something cheap could it?!?! :eek::eek:
