Got a lid switch pn - 3352630 (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=153&N=2927). Can I use a switch with number 3949247 (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=153&N=547225) in its place?

The first one listed has a clear tube coming out of the switch itself along with the wires. Is this a vacuum line of some sort, or is just a covering for a ground wire or something? Someone had bypassed the switch on the washer (110.92580100), and there is a green ground wire attached to the cabinet.

Not sure why this switch was bypassed. It shows to have continuity. Maybe the actuator was not pushing far enough down on it.

Tried to post a pic, but no luck. Was told I had exceeded my quota. I called myself decreasing the size by about a third. Was told I had exceeded evn more ( I think).

The manufacturer has replaced part number 3352630 with this item, part number 285671

For the most part you can, wire ends are going to be different but you can cut and splice the wires together.

The tube allows air to move when the switch is opening and closing.....newer versions no longer use the tube.

That is common...

Same problem with me yesterday when I tried to put the pic of the wire diagram up.....will mention this to the powers that be.

Found another switch of the same type, except for the plug terminals. I had added to the actuating lever with a piece of rubber and gorilla glue so it might would actuate as it is supposed to but never tried it. I am going to change the connecting plug and give it a shot.

Thanks.
