Where do I find exploded views of washer transmissions with part numbers in case I want to experiment with fixing a few?

Not all models show a breakdown of the tranny, more often just the whole part. Which tranny?

Here's the ubiquitous Whirlpool neutral drain gearcase. All parts are available except for the input worm gear and main drive gear. Forget about GE as there are no replacement parts available for them. Parts are available for Maytag orbital transmissions but not the later Herrin models.

Thanks guys. I didn't have one particular transmission in mind. I was just wondering in case I did come across one I wanted to attempt to fix. I was always under the impression if the tranny is bad scrap it. I guess for the most part, that holds true.

If the rest of the washer is beat, yes....if the rest of the washer is in good shape, it can be worth repairing or replacing the tranny.
