I have a maytag MGR4452BDW that I bought setup for propane. There were no parts included for nat gas. Now I want to convert it to nat gas but Whirlpool /maytag was no help. There are kits that include 6 orifices to go to propane but for what I need there is only a left and right top burner assembly that includes 4 orifices. Oven /broiler burner is one in the same and I see an orifice that it fits over but it seems it is not available. Some of what I'm reading is that it only needs to be adjusted. And the same goes for the regulator. Just open it and reverse the lp/ng fitting. If they sell 6 parts to convert to propane why only 4 (2 on each) to go natural?

Hi,
Normally when we converted a range from NG to LP the old parts are to be stored in the back of the range to convert back to NG if needed. Not all ranges needed the orifices replace, some could be adjusted back and forth between NG and LP...this one doesn't appear to be that way.
I couldn't find a LP to NG kit.

Regulator can be converted back with no parts.

thanks for the reply. No parts stored in back. I found a place for the orifice and tube assembly. I wish they sold the orifice by itself for a fraction of the cost but of course not. Last question: is the same gas safety valve used for ng and lp? The regulator feeds directly to the upper 4 burners and then there's a tube from the upper supply down to the gas safety valve. There's an adjustment screw on the downtube that I guess regulates the rate to the oven/broiler burner that sits atop the gas safety valve. But guessing can get you in trouble

is the same gas safety valve used for ng and lp?
It would appear so yes. The NG to LP conversion uses the same valve and just the orifice is replaced.
There's an adjustment screw on the downtube
Have a pic of this, doesn't show on the parts breakdowns.
