Anything special about this belt? It seems expensive and may not be stocked by some places.

Can't just use a 92" belt from a Whirlpool?

The manufacturer has replaced part number 8066065 with this item, part number 341241

685 Dryer belt. This is the most common belt used on Whirlpool, Kenmore, Kitchenaid, Roper, Estate and other dryer brands. The belt is flat, 92-1/4 inches long, 1/4 inch wide and has 4 ribs and 3 grooves. It replaces many other belts, including some with 5 ribs and 4 grooves. I was wondering why a couple of sites said it had to be special ordered and was a little pricey.

I see no reason why I can't take one the size off a Whlpl and use it.

Yupper, the 341241 is the common WLP dryer belt.
