Have a Whirlpool electric range/oven about 9 years old model # RF368lxmso. Recently it started acting up, when cooking with the bake element all of a sudden it would shut off and the broiler would kick on and once or twice we did not notice right away and over temp indicated. After unplugging the unit and cooling we could use bake again, but then after a week it did it again. Then after that the only thing that would come on was the broiler. Now the bake works and the broiler does not! Does this sound like a control board issue? Can replace the control board for about $200 but did not know if that is what the problem is for sure. Thanks Tom

Hi,

To be on the safe side, check all wiring between the control and elements for any burnt/shorted wires....actually touch these to check them. If ok, check the oven temp sensor...

How to ohm meter check...

If all check ok, then yes new oven control time...

The parts breakdown didn't say what colour yours was.

I have checked all the wires and connections all looked good and tight. I will test the temp sensor. Thanks for the reply.
