Have an Amana refrig. Model# DRS2662AW and Serial# PDRS2662AWD

Last year replaced the water valve that feeds the ice maker.
Now the problem is the water dispenser in the door. Sometimes the switch or valve does not turn the water off right away after you remove your glass from the dispenser. So keeps running for a couple seconds.

What part do I need and cant see how to get to the part.

Now the problem is the water dispenser in the door. Sometimes the switch or valve does not turn the water off right away after you remove your glass from the dispenser. So keeps running for a couple seconds.

Things that can do that:
- bad micro-switch in the dispenser
- mechanism that activates the switch
- low water pressure keeping the fill valve from closing
- bad fill valve
- water tank/reservoir flexing or breathing

A bad or sticky switch or mechanism activating the switch would keep power going to the fill valve even after the glass was removed, can be measured with a volt meter.
Low water pressure is at the refrigerator, not at the kitchen sink....should be 20min-120max psi.
Can bypass the tank/reservoir by joining the tubing together as a test.

A copy that I found...

Disassemble Ice ‘n’ Water Cavity
1.Apply masking tape to blade of putty knife or screwdriver. Use masked tool to remove plastic
Crush/Cube selector button from dispenser-cavity escutcheon.
2. Use masked tool to pry bottom edge of escutcheon up, away from door. Pull remaining three sides of
escutcheon up, away from door and set escutcheon aside.
3. Remove two screws that anchor electrical bracket cover. Separate cover and bracket to access ice,
water and cavity-light switches.
4. Remove two screws and clips Remove two screws and clips that anchor water actuator arm and return spring.
