oily ge agitator

Complaint is oily spots on clothes and a gasoline like odor. The agitator is oily under the bottom but nowhere else. No sign anywhere else in the tub.

I think it is transmission oil. Can it anything else? I'm thinking bas seal, water gets in tranny and tranny overflows into the interior of the machine.

Tranny oil or fabric softener build up.....but being a GE washer, tranny oil is more likely :(

Yeah pretty sure it is oil as it is wet under the agitator. Maybe I have one I can swap out.
