I have a Maytag Neptune Top loader washing machine. It seems that when the setting for spinning (water extracting) the tube makes a noise and the clothes are still wet when spin cycle is complete. I know the controll panel is basically a mother board and I have changed that 2 years ago. Since then the water that flows into the softener spot doesnt work along with the bleach dispenser. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

The ?wash tub? makes a noise but doesn't spin? Is all the water gone at the end of the cycle?

Started right after your repair?...if yes, no one considered you may have a defective part or maybe a wrong part?

FAV68UOAWW

I got FAV6800AWW to work for me.

Try the quick spin test...

Quick Spin Test
While in Service Mode, press the
Hand Wash
key to start a
Quick Spin
Test.
Quick Spin test steps are as follows:
1) Lock the lid.
2) Spin to index speed 90 rpm and hold for 60 seconds. Pump drains machine.
3) Spin to index speed 150 rpm and hold for 6seconds
4) Spin to index speed 350 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
5) Spin to index speed 550 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
6) Spin to index speed 700 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
7) Spin to index speed 850 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
Pump out.
8)Coast down to 0 rpm chimes 3 times.

Place a piece of tape on each tumbler ( access from each other ) before starting the spin test. After the spin test, see if the tape are still lined up with each other or are they off-set now.

The white round tumblers that are attached to stanless steel tub spin but the tub it self doen't spin, but it does drain the water. I moved the belt below and the tumblers spinned around but not the stainless steel tub. I can't even spin the tub by hand. Also I get no sevice code.

Doing the spin test and checking too see if the tumblers are moving during the spin is checking the see fi the clutch is bad....during spin the tumblers shouldn't move, if they do the clutch is bad.

I can't even spin the tub by hand

Trying to turn the wash tub by hand, you normally shouldn't be able to.

A copy:

Will Not Spin
• During fill cycle – If machine tumbles and spins simultaneously replace clutch assembly.
• During spin cycle – If machine tumbles and spins simultaneously replace clutch assembly.
• Perform Motor and Motor Control Test.
• Check belt.
• Check that the machine control correctly senses all 3water levels are empty. See Board Input Test.
• Tub Displacement Sensor disconnected, or loose wire.

Wet Clothes
• Very small clothes loads can cause unbalanced loads - add additional towels.
• Excessive suds may have been present.
• Check Tub Displacement Sensor connection and main harness connector at machine control board.
• Check Tub Displacement Sensor for 0 to 3.0 Volts DC output voltage between ground and the board input. Check for 12 Volts DC input voltage between the ground and the board output. Only check for voltage at the Tub Displacement Sensor. Do not perform a continuity check. See Tub Displacement Diagnostics
• Excessive motion was detected in spin Run Quick Spin Test with an empty tub to check Tub Displacement Sensor and machine control board.
• Check for restricted drain system.

Its time for a new set. I also spoke to a couple service guys and they laughed and suggested I get rid of machine. They said this Model was the worst ever made. I also found a blog site just on this machine. Not one good revue, 20 revues and all bad.

Thanks alot for your help with this I really appreciate it,

Korey

They said this Model was the worst ever made.

I think the Whirlpool Calypso may be the worst.....followed by the Cabrio......then anything GE.....then the Maytag Top load Neptune ;)
