My 5 year old dishwasher has been making a LOUD grinding noise for the last few weeks. Prior to that it seemed to be noisy for several years. I'm trying to figure out if the grinder is plugged/bad or the pump is going bad. Dishes are getting clean and all the water is pumping out. Could please use your help. Thanks!

In the washing only, the draining only, both?

This style has 2 motors, one for washing only and one for draining only.
The grinding noise is constant and loud during both
Odd...maybe the wash one as it is on more than the draining on is.

Parts breakdown.
Often water weeps through the seal and makes the motor noisy, hopefully just something hard has make it's way in causing the noise.
Some access helps to have a peek.

Cleaned the "food chopper" screen. Very little "trash". Still making LOUD noise. Seemed like the smart money was to move forward. Bought a Samsung, very quiet and washes dishes VERY clean. Thanks for all your help! I won't hesitate to use your site again and will recommend to others!
