i have a duet ht washing machine that was flashing f70. repair guy said bad ccu so i decided to do some more research. found forums talking about bad connections so i removed the plugs and re installed and it worked for a few weeks. now it won't turn on. i get 3 beeps when i push power and nothing on the screen. i'm getting 120v to the ccu and have tried to wiggle the connections on the ccu. also looked around for broken wires because i read a few people have that problem but couldnt find any. i do hear the click from the ccu when i plug it in so i don't think the board is bad? suggestions??

thanks for the links. i have read those and similar posts but i can't even get it to flash a code or run a diagnostic. does that usually mean the ccu is bad or just that there is a connection somewhere that is loose/broken that i can't seem to find?

I found:

F70
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no
communication is detected from the Central Control Unit to the
User Interface.
Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and
the Central Control Unit.
3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving.

but i can't even get it to flash a code or run a diagnostic. does that usually mean the ccu

Might more be both :(

I found this also, a copy:

On your Motor Control Unit (MCU) board (down in the bottom, by the motor) you have a three-blue-wire harness. Pull that harness off and let it hang in the air. Close the door and power the unit up. If prior to removing the harness, you got an F70 error code or three quick beeps when you tried to start it but now, with the harness off, it acts like it is going to run, then you have a bad MCU. Now, mind you– the machine will not run with the blue harness removed, but if it now programs and actslike it’s gonna run, then your MCU is FUBAR

update, i was able to get it to run the diagnostic by holding the button as described in the manual. i tried this before and nothing so i'm not sure if i just wasn't holding it down long enough or what. it says"c00 u11 u00 c00 n00 nC 1:51" then all the lights go off and it says "c00" then if i leave it sit there for another minute or two it reads f70.

found this http://www.justanswer.com/appliance/5y8v5-whirlpool-duet-washer-wfw9200sq00-that-doesn-t-start.html which seems like the same problem (beeps but doesn't do anything) and their expert says its the UI, does this sound right?

i'm really confused now! f70 still seems to indicate bad ccu. i tried to test the door switch with my meter and got 160 from 1-2 and 320 from 1-3 which is not correct according to what i found online so could the door switch be bad? and then that last link i found described similar signs and said it was the UI? i just don't want to buy a bunch of parts that i don't need. thanks for all the help

Tried this test?

3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving.

Drum moving at all?

One nice thing at RC is if the part doesn't fix the problem, send it back for a refund.

The resistance of both door coils (between pin 1 and 3) should be approx. 320 Ω

Which board did you try?
Doesn't happen often but does happen, could be a bad part....might be a good idea to get it replaced through the part warranty.

Error code 70 means a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure. There is no
communication detected from the Central Control Unit to the
User Interface (the part that you touch in the middle to set cycles).

Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and
the Central Control Unit.

If these connections are ok then

3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving.

*****

For sure check for any loose connections. Push on all of the wires.
If any doubt the part should be sent back for a warranty replacement!
