unused DW seals

I recently moved into a house with a dish washer. Being alone I never use it. I wash by hand. How often should I run a load through it just to keep the seals and pump etc in condition?

If it is a GE product ( GE, Hotpoint, Moffat, McClary, 363.####### or 362.####### Kenmore ) you should run it once a week.
Anything else can be let go and used once a month is fine.
