Jeff, I just bought one of these machines. I am having trouble telling the age on the page on your site.
Model number in the manual appears to be W10280475A/W10280475A-SP.

SP the date letters?

W10280475A/W10280475A-SP

That looks more like the manual part #....and the sp is often spanish.....need the model/serial numbers off of the machine.

Actually, that number was on the manual. My daughter-in-law claimed it. I will try and think to look for the numbers on the machine tomorrow if I go over to get her old one (about 3 years old).
If it has regular Whlpl numbers, it should be no problem telling the age.

Guess I should have high lighted was. I was just confirming what you had said.

Anyway, I couldn't remember your addy, but I was wondering if you care to comment on this washer. I have my opinion after reading up on them a little, but I trust yours more than mine seeing as I have no experience with them at all.

If you rather comment here, I understand.

A pos in my opinion.

over priced, lasts only a few years, expensive to repair, electronics are a nightmare.

JMO!

Heheh, seems to be a pretty common opinion.
I really wish I had not bought this one. Daughter-in-law is loving it...so far. I will be advising her to keep what she had (Whlpl stackables), which she has not liked since she bought them new about 3 years ago. I think they said they are stackables. I don't care for them either really, but my daughter likes them.

I told her just about all the reveiws I read or opinions I got from people were negative.
Her reply was, " You'll find me another ". (If/when this one dies)
I told her I would try to keep a spare around.
Shaking my head...

Now the fun begins.

She told me tonight this machine stops when it is time for it to spin. Something about having to put it in spin then turn it on to get it to spin.

Timer? Some kind of sensor?

Hope you don't need the numbers for this tonight. I reckon I will be trading with her if I can't find the problem.

Check the lid switch/lid switch probe as a good place to start.

I guess I may have ruled the lid switch out a little early. My thining was us ually if the switch is bad, the machine will not spin no matter where you put the timer. The switches and the probes can get a little finicky sometimes though before going out all together I guess.

No experience with these. I just took my daughter a hydro wave a few days ago. I guess I will get some experience at some point.

Stay close! :D
