Bosch gas cooktop

Have a Bosch gas cooktop model NHT 925 AUC, it`s old but new. It`s been converted to LP gas. The problem is the valves do not turn the burner low enough to let something simmer, like soup.Would a valve from a newer Bosch model say NGM 8654 UC with the Optim (400btu) work in the older model?

LP burns hotter than NG does.
The valve appear to be different between those two cooktops.
Are the shafts ( under the knob ) hollow on yours?

Hi Jeff, The shafts look to be solid brass. If some re&re needs to be done I`am willing to do it or have it done.Someone said that the valve and burner
need to be matched up,is that true..ish?

That's too bad...the hollow ones have a screw that can adjust the flame intesity.

Trueish for sure....valve and orifice allow the gas flow to the burner.

Maybe a smaller orifice can be found....old ones often had the size stamped on them.

Hi Jeff, The cook top orifices are marked, medium 74L #18417 and large 98L #18418.

I also changed out the bypass screws per instructions, have not tried putting the NG back in.
Not a lot of room to work, and if it drops down inside...well would not be fun.

Do all orifices for cook tops have the same thread size?

What size do you think would best help with this problem?

Probably not all....but many that I see do.

Not sure if it will help or not, but the newer model# you posted has a 5500 BTU burner, which is the right rear.

Thank-you Jeff for your help. Have a FYI about this cook top.
The valve in the off position is at 12 o`clock you push down and turn to high at 9 o`clock and 3 0`clock is the low position.
If you go back to high push down a little and turn towards 12 o`clock the burner goes to a very low burn, and works great.
