Hey Jeff.
Jeff, a few days ago, I replaced the front bearing, glides and felt on a Westinghouse dryer model DE600KDW5. It is the type with the three glides on the top piece of felt.

I was thinking about this thing and remembered the instructions said the felt would fit about 1/8" past the door opening. I have this about 1/8" past the door opening toward the inside of the dryer. Is this right?

The old one was bad and was tearing garments.

Note - This door does not have a curled edge.

Thanks.

Yeah that one in the video has a curled edge on the door. The felt cannot fit 1/8" past it like I was talking about. I had watched another video that showed basically the same door as your video.

Like I said, I positioned mine a little past the lip toward the inside of the dryer. Now I am a little worried about it. I will look at the directions again. Maybe they were a little more clear than I remember.

Just out of curiosity, I had reversed the old worn out glides to see if it would run quietly. It did, but ripped some shop towels that caught in the jagged edges of the worn glides that were a little inside the dryer drum.

Okay, I just reread the instructions.

" Note - About 1/8" will extend over the lip of the arc."
Maybe I got right. It sounds good.

Not sure it was making a noise yet when I got it. I tend to take these things apart to clean and check them for things like this.
