GE washer screeching in spin cycle

I do not have a model number, but I assume it is direct drive as it does not look very old in the picture I saw.
What would be likely causes of it making a screeching sound during spin cycle?

Ground out tub nut and hub, bad tub bearing, tranny, shifter, motor.....

Thanks, sounds too risky for me.

P.S. I did not know GE did not have a direct drive. I thought just about all of them had the dd's over the years.

Maytag still have only belt drives?

GE, Maytag, Frigidaire, Amana all had belts......but since Maytag got purchased by Whirlpool, they now have direct drive washers with a Maytag name on them.
