What do you do with a stubborn dust cap on a GE when you need to replace agtiating dogs? I have one sold that has been in storage for a good while and would feel better if it had new dogs in it, but the cap in the agitator does not want to budge.

GE agitators are not serviceable. They don't come apart like Whirlpool models. Dogs rarely go bad in them but if they do, you replace the agitator.

Thanks, fixer. It never ceases to amaze me at the things I do not know about these machines. Maybe my wife is right, dementia may be slipping in. I thought I was just scatter brained.

GE got sued by Whirlpool when they first can out with the dual-action agitator, cause it was so close to their version.
Gotta wonder whom Whirlpool hasn't sued!
As Fixer said, the GE version does not come apart for any type of repair :(
