Is there a signifigant difference between 740-9002 3366849 and 740-9000 3366848 water level switches? Will one replace the other on a Roper washer? Are they both 2 level?

Thanks.

3366849

409 Water fill level pressure switch, The manufacturer has replaced part number 3366849 with this item, part number W10335056 (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=153&N=1617123)

3366848

410 Water level switch The manufacturer has replaced part number 3366848 with this item, part number W10339229 (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=153&N=1652190)

They don't sub to each other so there must be some kind of differences. I don't know what they are off hand....but could be size of machine ( extra large vrs super capacity ), infinite water levels style or click/click/click style water levels. I would think if testing a machine you could certainly be able to use either for testing but I am unsure if you would want to sell someone a machine with the wrong WLC in it.

Nope, not selling a machine with the wrong switch. Just thought maybe a different source had a little difference in the numbers, or the same switch but for a different machine had different numbers. And, as in the links above, sometimes parts are replace with parts with different numbers.

I have the 3366849 with a broken stem. The switch works, there is just no stem, therefore, no knob.

Some of these machines I ask about may not be worth fixing, but it is a learning thing for me.

Thanks for all your help.

P.S. as far as testing, I have a piece of tubing I use to attach to the level switch and blow on to test the switch.

Time to throw it out?....unless you are keeping it for testing.

For sure! How it works, how it comes apart, etc.
