What causes a rust colored ring around the top of an inner tub on a washer? Uh, rust? :(
Had to wash a dark (blackish) stain under this ring. I assumed that was softener, minerals, etc..
There was also some rust-like crud on the shaft under the agitator.
The people were using it, but that does not mean it was staining clothes.
Replaced the dogs, and it seems to do what it is supposed to do.
Comments?

Things that are lighter in water will float....body oil, soap oil, many gookus (softener, minerals, etc) like that will float on top of the water and makes the ring around the top edge of the wash basket and outer holding tank.....this is common. Older porcelain tubs seemed to be better at not having this stick to it, newer plastic ones are not so good.

Should read 'was not' staining clothes.
This has a porcelain tub and it did concern me. It does not want to wash off like the blackish ring below it did.

Hmm, I could try that. Chemicals? Or just the pressure washer?

Mostly just the power washer, we use Daki-spray cleaner or fantastic with bleach for a/c's and dehumididifers.
For the washers I just use the hard water spray.
