    Default Speed Queen belt

    Model - AWN412SP111TW01

How much slack should be in the belt on this machine? This one seems awful loose. Complaint was no spin sometimes with large loads. There is belt debris indicating a worn belt for whatever reason. I intend to remove the belt to measure it (30 1/4" ?) and check the pump for any obstruction. There does not seem to be any adjustment on it, no sliders or anything, so I assume the tension/idler pulley comes into play here?

The idler pulley and spring keep tension on the belt.

It will appear loose and tighten itself as needed.

Yeah I thought it worked like a Maytag as far as tightening. I guess the thing for me to do is measure the belt to see if it is a little too long. Along with checking the pump and tension pulley and spring.

Seems like a lot of hassle to get a belt off....for a lazy person.

Took another look at this machine yesterday before I almost took it to the curb.
Anyway, the pulley on the motor shaft looks like it is slipping barely moving the tub/basket in spin cycle. Is this pulley a press fit? Got a set screw? I'm betting it requires another motor assembly? (My luck)

    Only comes with the motor.

I have not seen a set screw or pin...so it looks to be pressed on.
