Any experience with these? My opinion is not a good opinion.

" A year old." If you don't count the three years between the year it was made and now.

Anyway, it was unplugged and the lid would not raise. Normal? Plugged it in and the lid would open. It would light up and do..nothing. Suggested putting a load in it. Got a pair of jeans and a towel. Still nothing.

I think someone was trying to who-do me. Seems to me the lid should have at least locked when the power button was pushed.

Not normally no.

Should yes.

Try the recalibration mode first as a good place to start.
